Lamp – 一夜のペーソス (Dusk to Dawn)
Salah satu kelompok shibuya kei / jazz pop yang paling berpengaruh, Lamp merilis album studio terbarunya pada awal minggu ini dengan judul “Dusk to Dawn” melalui label Botanical House. Ini sekaligus menjadi album studio ke-9 bagi trio asal Tokyo tersebut. Ini merupakan album pertama Lamp dalam kurun waktu 5 tahun, setelah terakhir kali mereka merilis album bertajuk “彼女の時計” pada tahun 2018 lalu. Terdapat 20 lagu dalam album terbaru Lamp kali ini dengan total durasi mencapai 74 menit lebih. Mulai dari awal mereka berkarir pada tahun 2000 Lamp tidak pernah sama sekali mengalami bongkar pasang personil. Formasi trio yang terdiri dari Taiyo Someya (guitar), Kaori Sakakibara (vokal, suling, akordion), dan Yusuke Nagai (vokals, bass, guitar, piano, keyboards) masih bertahan sampai saat ini.

Furia – Huta Luna
Kuartet experimental black metal asal Katowice, Polandia ini melepas album studio terbaru bertajuk “Huta Luna” melalui label Pagan Records. Ini merupakan hasil dari tindak lanjut album “W śnialni” yang dirilis 2021 lalu, dan sekaligus menjadi album studio ke-7 selama mereka aktif. Album ini sendiri dikerjakan di Studio Czyściec yang terletak di kota kelahiran mereka dan mulai dikerjakan Februari 2023 lalu. Furia sendiri sempat memberi kejutan, ketika mereka melepas album “W śnialni” yang merubah seluruh tatanan musiknya dari psychedelic black metal konvensional menuju hal yang lebih berani dan eksperimental.

A Beacon School – YoYo
Proyek dreampop, A Beacon School yang digerakan oleh multi-instrumentalis Patrick J. Smith merilis album ke-2 bertajuk “YoYo” melalui label Grind Select. Ini merupakan album studio pertama bagi A Beacon School selama 5 tahun, setelah terakhir kali merilis album debut berjudul “Cola”. Semua lagu dan aransemen digarap sendiri oleh Patrick, sementara proses mixing dikerjakan oleh Steve DePalo, Erick Lee (untuk lagu ‘Jon’), dan Sonny DiPerri (untuk lagu ‘Alone’). Album “YoYo” ini sendiri terdiri 10 lagu baru dari A Beacon School yang kembali mempertemukan gaya musik uptempo ala alternative rock, suara melodi jangly dari gitar, dan lamunan elemen indie pop / shoegaze.

Sulphur Aeon – Seven Crowns and Seven Seals
Kurang lebih 5 tahun sejak album terakhir mereka bertajuk “The Scythe of Cosmic Chaos” dilepas, kini Sulphur Aeon sang pengusung lovecraftian blackened death metal merilis album terbaru dengan judul “Seven Crowns and Seven Seals” melalui Ván Records. Mereka kembali bekerjasama dengan Simon Werner dan Michael Zech yang bertugas sebagai produser sekaligus orang yang memantau proses mixing dan recording keseluruhan album. Sementara proses mastering dikerahkan pada V. Santura dan seniman Paolo Girardi menggarap artwork yang bertemakan kosmis horror tersebut. Mengenai album terbarunya pihak band mengatakan : “Karya terbaru Sulphur Aeon diberkati dengan kontras pasang surut sonik yang menakjubkan. Rentetan riff bervariasi, hentakan yang dahsyat, lapisan melodi yang halus, atmosfer yang padat, dan paduan suara yang dilantunkan dengan penuh kemenangan. Melampaui genre dan selalu menjaga koherensi alami, ‘Seven Crowns and Seven Seal’ menyajikan keunggulan sinematik metal yang ditangkap dan diasah dengan sempurna oleh kolaborator lama mereka, Simon Werner dan Michael Zech (Secrets Of The Moon, Bølzer, dll.)”

Miiraposa – TONII SOPRANA
Mira Wagner a.k.a Miiraposa baru saja melepas EP ke-4 sepanjang karirnya yang berjudul “TONII SOPRANA” dan dirilis secara independen. Ini sekaligus menjadi ep ke-3 yang dirilis Miiraposa tahun ini. Sebelumnya dia telah merilis EP bertajuk “Siiren” pada bulan Februari kemudian disusul dengan perilisan EP berikutnya, “Deziigner” Mei lalu. Miiraposa sendiri dikenal sebagai musisi dan penulis lagu yang mengambil cabang musik elektronik yang lebih ekstrim dengan mengandalkan perpaduan deconstructed club, glitch hop, dan experimental hip-hop.
Stortregn – Finitude
Technical melodic blackened death metal asal Swiss, Stortregn merilis album studio ke-6 nya berjudul “Finitude” melalui label The Artisan Era. Vladimir Cochet yang telah bekerja sama dengan Stortregn sejak 2011, kembali dipercaya untuk menangani masalah teknis album terkait proses recording, mixing, hingga mastering. Sementara untuk sampul album, mereka menggaet seniman Rodrigo Pereira Salvatierra dan View from the Coffin untuk mengerjakan bagian ilustrasi pada gambar. “Finitude” menjadi album studio ke-2 Stortregn yang dirilis melalui labeh The Artisan Era, setelah 2 tahun yang lalu mereka melepas album “Impermanence” sebagai tanda kiprah debut mereka bersama label asal Amerika Serikat tersebut.
