The Smile – Wall of Eyes

Band Art Rock besutan Thom Yorke, The Smile merilis album ke-2 nya bertajuk “Wall of Eyes” melalui label XL.”Wall of Eyes” merupakan tindak lanjut dari album debut The Smile, “A Light for Attracting Attention” yang dirilis 2 tahun silam yang mendapat sambutan positif dari majalah dan kritikus musik terkemuka. Kali ini mereka bekerjasama dengan Sam Petts-Davies yang menjadi produser sekaligus menangani proses mixing album. Selain merilis album baru, The Smile telah berencana menggelar tur dalam rangka promosi album terbarunya ini yang akan dimulai pada 7 Maret mendatang di venue 3Arena, Dubin, Irlandia.

SrenHlinMrews 雲​山​夢​樹 – ​(​Clouds / Mountains / Dreams / Woods)

Duo atmospheric post-black metal kelahiran provinsi Sichuan, China ini merilis album debutnya berjudul “(​Clouds / Mountains / Dreams / Woods)” yang dirilis secara independent. Nekkomix atau dikenal dengan nama asli Bogdan Makarov, menangani sesi mixing dan mastering keseluruhan album. Makarov sendiri telah berkecimpung di dunia sejak lama dan telah berpengalaman dengan menjadi pemilik label NƎkkomix, sebagai teknisi audio, hingga memiliki beberapa proyek post-black metal ternama, seperti A Light in the Dark, Skyforest, Moondweller, dan lainnya. Album ini sendiri sudah mulai ditulis dan direkam pada tahun 2023 lalu. Selain itu, SrenHlinMrews 雲​山​夢​樹 berencana akan melepas album lainnya berjudul “溪​山​清​遠​(​Streamy Mountains, Limpid Remoteness)” di penghujung bulan. Album itu merupakan versi akustik daripada album debut ini, yang juga ditambahkan oleh piano dan alat musik tradisional khas Tiongkok, Dongxiao.

Benny the Butcher – Everybody Can’t Go 

Jeremie Damon Pennick a.k.a Benny the Butcher merilis album solo ke-10 sepanjang karirnya dengan judul “Everybody Can’t Go”. Album ini sekaligus menjadi album debut bagi rapper kelahiran Buffalo tersebut yang dirilis di bawah naungan mayor label hip-hop, Def Jam ketika ia memutuskan untuk menandatangani kontrak kerjasama bersama Def Jam beberapa saat yang lalu . “Everybody Can’t Go” memuat 12 lagu, dimana Benny the Butcher akan berkolaborasi dengan beberapa rapper ternama seperti : Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Jadakiss, hingga rapper yang terafiliasi oleh Griselda Records, besutan dari Benny The Butcher seperti Westside Gunn Conway The Machine, dan Armani Caesar turut meramaikan album ini.

Corrupted – Felicific Algorithm / Mushikeras

1 dekade lebih sejak album terakhirnya yang bertajuk “Garten der Unbewusstheit” dirilis pada tahun 2011, unit legendaris sludge / doom metal asal Jepang, Corrupted kembali merilis album di tahun ini dengan judul “Felicific Algorithm / Mushikeras” melalui HG Fact. Album studio ke-6 mereka ini diambil dari gabungan 2 buah ep mereka berjudul “Felicific Algorithim” yang dirilis tahun 2018 dan “Mushikeras” yang baru dirilis akhir September lalu. Selama masa “hiatus” yang panjang dalam merilis materi penuh, terdapat sedikit pergantian formasi, dimana Kaz Mike mulai bergabung bersama band pada tahun 2022 sebagai gitaris kedua.

Cheekface – It’s Sorted

Trio Indie Geek Rock asal L.A, Cheekface melepas album ke-4 berjudul “It’s Sorted” yang dilepas secara independent. Album ini memiliki selisih jarak 2 tahun dengan album pendahulunya, “Too Much to Ask”. Greg Katz selaku vokalis utama dan gitaris kembali memproduseri album dan menjadi teknisi audio untuk mengawasi sesi rekaman. Mereka kembali menggunakan jasa Alex Newport sebagai mixer dan Carl Saff yang menangani sesi mastering. Cheekface telah berencana untuk menjalani tur promosi “It’s Sorted” di Inggris pada Maret mendatang, dan disusul dengan agenda tur Amerika Serikat yang dimulai pada April hingga Mei mendatang.

Caligula’s Horse – Charcoal Grace

Band progressive metal rock asal Australia, Caligula’s Horse merilis album studio ke-6 yang berjudul “Charcoal Grace” melalui InsideOut Music. Terhitung 4 tahun sudah sejak terakhir kali mereka merilis album “Radiant” yang dilepas 2020 lalu. Sam Vallen selaku frontman dan gitaris, band kembali turun tangan untuk menjadi produser, hingga orang yang menangani proses mixing dan rekaman. Mereka kembali bekerjasama dengan Forrester Savell, orang yang pernah menangani bagian mastering pada album “In Contact”. “Charcoal Grace lahir dari keputusasaan statis yang diakibatkan oleh pandemi terhadap band ini dan, tentu saja, sebagian besar dunia. Ini adalah album yang memperhitungkan pengalaman dan hasil saat ini, yang pada akhirnya diarahkan menuju katarsis – bergerak menuju masa depan yang lebih penuh harapan.” Ucap pihak Caligula’s Horse.

evilgiane – #HEAVENSGATE VOL.1

Produser, penulis lagu, sekaligus rapper asal Yonkers, Evilgiane merilis album terbaru bertajuk “#HEAVENSGATE VOL. 1”. Ini merupakan album solo ke-5 evilgiane di luar keterlibatannya bersama dengan Surf Gang, sebuah kolektif hip-hop / plugg yang telah berdiri sejak 2018 di New York. Kendati demikian, beberapa anggota Surf Gang lainnya turut terlibat dalam proyek terbaru evilgiane kali ini, seperti Harto Falión, Eera, dan JDN. Selain ketiga anggota Surf Gang, evilgiane melibatkan banyak musisi tamu lainnya seperti Bear1Boss, N.A.O. Quelly, 454, FLEE, K$upreme, Dee Aura, dan masih banyak lagi.
