MGMT – Loss of Life
Duo Andrew VanWyngarden dan Ben Goldwasser yang tergabung dalam proyek neo-psych MGMT merilis album terbaru bertajuk “Loss of Life” melalui Mom+Pop records. Album ini sekaligus menjadi album studio pertama yang dirilis MGMT selama 6 tahun belakangan ini, dimana terakhir kali mereka melepas album bertajuk “Little Dark Age” pada tahun 2018 lalu. Dave Fridmann turun tangan menjadi produser album yang juga dibantu oleh beberapa nama lainnya seperti Patrick Wimberly, Daniel Lopatin, Brian Burton, James Richardson, dan Miles A. Robinson. Mereka juga menggunakan gambar dari mendiang John Baldessari untuk dijadikan sebagai sampul album utama kali ini. Total terdapat 10 lagu baru yang dipersembahkan oleh MGMT melalui album terbarunya ini.

Borknagar – Fall
Veteran progressive black metal asal Norway, Borknagar melepas album ke-12 “Fall” melalui label Century Media Records. Sang gitaris utama, Øystein G. Brun kembali menjadi produser utama, sementara Borknagar juga kembali bekerjasama dengan Jens Bogren yang menangani proses mixing pada keseluruhan album. Untuk pertama kalinya Borknagar bekerjasama dengan seniman Eliran Kantor untuk menggarap gambar sampul album utama dan Tony Lindgren yang menangani sesi mastering. Menurut pihak band “Fall” merupakan sekuel dari album mereka sebelumnya, seperti yang diucapkan: “‘Fall’ merupakan lanjutan dari album studio ‘True North’ yang terkenal pada tahun 2019, dan dilengkapi dengan sampul album yang menakjubkan oleh Eliran Kantor (Testament, My Dying Bride, Sodom). ‘Fall’ merupakan sebuah bentuk berbagi perjuangan besar melawan alam liar dalam diri kita semua… “

Erika de Casier – Still
Penulis lagu, penyanyi, sekaligus produser berkebangsaan Denmark, Erik de Casier melepas album studio ke-3 nya bertajuk “Still” melalui label 4AD. Namanya semakin dikenal ketika dia menjadi sosok dibalik layar yang menulis lagu comeback hits dari grup K-Pop New Jeans, “Super Shy”. Namun saat ini dia juga ingin menunjukkan bahwa ia tidak hanya menjadi seorang yang piawai dibalik layar, melainkan memiliki kemahiran di atas rata-rata saat tampil di depan. Kali ini dia kembali mengundang musisi papan atas seperti Blood Orange yang mengisi pada lagu berjudul “Twice”, Shygirl yang tampil pada lagu berjudul “Ex-Girlfriend”, dan They Hate Change yang muncul pada lagu bertajuk “ice”. Selain mengundang musisi ternama, Erika juga menggaet sejumlah produser essential, diantaranya: N, Jonathan Jull Ludvigsen, Carl Emil Johansen, Niels Kirk, Christian Rhode Lindinger, Nick León, Kirsten Nyhus Janssen dan Tobias Sachse. “Semua ini menunjukkan bahwa ini merupakan album klasik milik de Casier, perpaduan istimewa antara elektronika mewah dan R&B yang diterangi cahaya bulan menggali lebih jauh ke dalam suara unik di sini.” ucap press release yang dikeluarkan pihak Erika. Bersamaan dengan perilisan album, ia telah menyiapkan tur promosi album terbarunya ini yang dimulai pada 26 Maret mendatang di Théâtre Fairmount, Montreal, Canada dan diakhiri pada 29 Mei di venue KOKO yang berkawasan di London, Inggris.

Druadan Forest – Dismal Spells Part II: The Night Circus
One-man ambient / dungeon synth black metal, Druadan Forest melepas album terbarunya berjudul “Dismal Spells Part II: The Night Circus” melalui Werewolf Records. Ini sekaligus menjadi album studio ke-5 yang dilepas oleh V-Khaoz selaku konseptor utama dan satu-satunya Druadan Forest. Album ini sendiri merupakan sekuel dari “Dismal Spells from the Dragonrealm” album yang dilepas sejak tahun 2019 lalu. Terdapat 8 lagu baru yang ditulis V-Khaoz dengan total durasi sepanjang 37 menit.

The Body and Dis Fig – Orchards of a Futile Heaven
Unit sludge metal / noise asal Portland, The Body bergabung bersama proyek post-industrial, Dis Fig untuk membentuk album kolaborasi bertajuk “Orchards of a Futile Heaven” melalui label Thrill Jockey. Bagi The Body ini menjadi album ke-21 mereka sejak mulai didirikan tahun 1999, sementara bagi Dis Fig ini menjadi album studio ke-3. Felicia Chen selaku satu-satunya personil Dis Fig turun tangan untuk menangani sesi rekaman dan menjadi produser bersama dengan Seth Manchester. Seth sendiri juga terlibat menangani sesi mixing dan mastering pada album. “Saya selalu menginginkan musik yang lebih berat, tetapi saya juga tidak terlalu menyukai musik gitar yang lebih berat,” ucap sang penggebuk Drum The Body, Lee Buford. Kemudian Felicia Chen menambahkan : “Tidak ada satupun musik yang terasa cukup berat bagi saya. Manusia tidak bisa seberat mesin, Saya menyukai keseimbangan. Anda tidak akan pernah bisa terhubung oleh mesin sebaik manusia. Itulah sebabnya kombinasi ini sangat ampuh bagi saya. Saya tidak ingin bersembunyi. Saya pikir tidak ada yang bisa menandingi hubungan antara suara anda yang terkoneksi oleh suara empati milik orang lain”

iDKHOW – Gloom Division
Duo new wave / pop rock I DONT KNOW How BUT THEY FOUND ME (disingkat: iDKHOW) merilis album studio ke-2 bertajuk “Gloom Division” melalui label Concord. Will Joseph Cook menjadi satu-satunya kolaborator yang muncul dalam album ini, dimana ia akan mengisi lagu bertajuk “Sunnyside” sebagai lagu ke-11 album. Mereka bekerjasama dengan produser ternama Dave Fridmann yang sudah menukangi beberapa band besar seperti Tame Impala, Number Girls, Flaming Lips, MGMT, Mogwai, dan lainnya. Pihak band berkata: “Album kedua I DONT KNOW How BUT THEY FOUND ME, ‘Gloom Division, merupakan gambaran sekilas dari pikiran Dallon Weekes. Ini merupakan tindak lanjut dari Razzmatazz milik iDKHOW (bersama single Radio Alternatif #1 ‘Leave Me Alone’), & sebuah EP bersama rekaman emas ‘Choke.’ Karya paling otobiografi hingga saat ini dari Weekes (sebelumnya Panic! At The Disco), GLOOM DIVISION meninggalkan perasaan euforia yang sama seperti yang menjadi pemicu untuk pembuatan album.

Traveler – Prequel to Madness
4 tahun pasca album “Termination Shock” kolektif revivalist heavy metal, Traveler merilis album studio ke-3 bertajuk “Prequel to Madness” melalui No Remorse Records. Selama masa “rehat” 4 tahun tersebut, Traveler sempat mengalami pergantian formasi. Nolan Benedetti masuk sebagai drummer anyar pada tahun 2022, menyusul Jake Axl Wendt yang masuk di tahun 2023 sebagai bassist baru Traveler Untuk ke-4 kalinya Dylan Barstad bekerja sama dengan Traveler dalam menggarap artwork utama album. Selain itu Traveler turut bekerjasama dengan nama-nama baru, seperti Dan Tsourounis yang menukangi sesi mixing dan Dajaun Martineau yang bertugas di balik meja mastering album.

Real Estate – Daniel
Indie Pop asal Brooklyn, Real Estate merilis album studio ke-6 bertajuk “Daniel” melalui label Domino. Album ini memakan waktu pengerjaan selama 9 hari. Mereka juga bekerja sama dengan Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves) seorang penulis lagu sekaligus produser yang pernah memenangkan penghargaan GRAMMY. “Daniel” sendiri merupakan sebuah judul yang memiliki makna multipersepsi, apakah itu mengenai nama depan sang produser, atau sebagai bentuk penghormatan terhadap The Replacements. Bersamaan dengan rilisnya album, Real Estate akan melakoni agenda tur Amerika mereka yang akan dimulai bertepatan dengan hari rilisnya album di venue Rough Trade NYC, New York. Tur tersebut kemudian akan diakhiri pada 26 Mei mendatang di venue Variety Playhouse yang berlokasi di Atlanta, Georgia.
