Alcest – Les chants de l’aurore
Blackgaze asal Perancis, Alcest merilis album antisipatifnya yang berjudul “Les chants de l’aurore” melalui label Nuclear Blast. Ini merupakan album pertama bagi duo Neige dan Winterhalter dalam kurun waktu 5 tahun, setelah terakhir kali mereka merilis album “Spiritual Instinct” pada tahun 2019. Pada album studio ke-7 mereka kali ini, Alcest menggaet seniman Yoann Lossel untuk menggarap gambar sampul album utama. Untuk kali pertama Winterhalter juga terlibat sebagai teknisi audio, dibantu oleh Chris Edrich yang mengerjakan sesi mixing pada album. Mereka masih bekerjasama dengan Mika Jussila yang bertugas menangani sesi mastering, dimana ke-2 pihak telah berkolaborasi sejak album “Kodama” yang dilepas pada 2016 lalu. Alcest telah merencanakan tur yang akan dimulai pada 16 Juli mendatang di Patinoire Olympique de Limoges, Limoges, Prancis dan tur akan dilanjutkan pada 21 Oktober di Boogaloo, Zagreb, Kroasia.

d’Eon – Leviathan
Chris d’Eon a.k.a d’Eon melepas projek album ke-14 nya dengan judul “Leviathan”. D’eon sendiri didirikan di Dartmouth, NS, Canada, namun saat ini d’eon berdomisili di Montreal, Quebec, Kanada. Dia juga tergabung dalam sebuah grup Omon Ra II, dan sekaligus pendiri label B&R Records. Ini menjadi 3 tahun kembalinya d’Eon merilis album studio penuh, sejak dia melepas 3 album studio sekaligus pada tahun 2021. Multi instrumentalist, musisi, dan penulis lagu, Angel Hair Audio yang bertugas menukangi sesi mastering album, sedangkan sampul album sendiri dikerjakan oleh seseorang bernama Max. Seperti biasanya, d’Eon selalu menyajikan dunia yang telah terdigitalisasi yang direpresentasikan oleh corak musiknya yang khas dan penuh manipulasi suara-suara dari berbagai campuran jenis turunan musik elektronik.

Inherits the Void – Scars of Yesteryears
One-man black metal Perancis, Inherits the Void merilis album studio ke-3 berjudul “Scars of Yesteryears” melalui label Avantgarde Music. Album ini hanya berjarak 15 bulan dengan pendahulunya, “The Impending Fall of the Stars” yang dilepas Januari tahun lalu. Ingin mencoba mendatangkan esensi dari gaya black metal Swedia, Antoine Scholtès selaku konseptor satu-satunya utama berhasil menggaet nama Dan Swanö untuk duduk di balik meja mastering. Swano sendiri sangat kompeten dengan telah menangani begitu banyak band black metal legendaris untuk urusan keperluan suara, seperti Dissection, Marduk, Abruptum, Dark Funeral, dan masih banyak lagi. Untuk penggarapan gambar sampul album utama, Inherits the Void menunjuk nama Timon Kokott. Mengenai album terbarunya, pihak band mengatakan: “Tema dari album ini adalah tentang warisan yang ditinggalkan oleh masyarakat masa lalu dan masa kini, baik melalui perjuangan, revolusi atau bahkan melalui jejak-jejak yang kita sendiri tinggalkan dan yang dengan sendirinya mengarah pada kehancuran lingkungan hidup kita. Tidak diragukan lagi Mewarisi karya The Void yang paling beragam dan matang hingga saat ini, ‘Scars Of Yesteryears’ berhasil memberi penghormatan kepada para godfather dunia death metal dan black metal di Swedia, namun tetap mempertahankan suara yang personal dan kekinian dan tidak pernah menyerah pada nostalgia belaka.”

H1-KEY – LOVE or HATE
Girl grup K-pop, H1-KEY melakukan comeback tahun ini dengan merilis mini album ke-3 mereka bertajuk “LOVE or HATE” melalui GLG (pending). Dalam mini album tersebut, mereka total menyertakan sebanyak 4 lagu, dengan masing-masing berjudul : ‘Let It Burn’, ‘♥Letter’, ‘Iconic’ dan ‘Rainfalls’. Heo Yong-seok aka “Warmman” menjadi eksekutif produser untuk album ini, dan Jin Jeong-gyun menjadi product supervisor. Dikabarkan bahwa girl group yang terdiri dari 서이 [Seoi] (leader, vocals), 리이나 [Riina] (vocals), 옐 [Yel] (vocals, rap), dan 휘서 [Hwiseo] (vocals) ini akan merilis album “LOVE or HATE” ke dalam 4 format fisik berbeda.

Portrait – The Host
Occult heavy metal asal Swedia, Portrait merilis album ke-6 mereka dengan judul “The Host” yang dilepas melalui label Metal Blade Records. Ini sekaligus menjadi keterlibatan pembuatan album pertama bagi Karl Gustafsson, gitaris yang baru masuk pada tahun 2021. Per Lengstedt yang sebelumnya pernah bekerja sama dengan Portrait pada album, “Crossroads” (2014) kembali dipercaya untuk menjadi produser sekaligus mixer. Untuk penggarapan sampul album Portrait menyerahkan seutuhnya pada kreativitas dari seniman Niklas Webjörn. Ini akan menjadi rangkaian album yang panjang, dengan menghadirkan 14 lagu ke dalam jajaran tracklist album.

7777 の天使 [7777 Angels] – Life in Heaven
Grup experimental hip-hop kelahiran Portugal ini baru saja melepas album ke-2 bertajuk “Life in Heaven” melalui label Soul Feeder. 7777 Angels sendiri terdiri atas Swan Palace dan DRVGジラ. Terakhir kali 7777 Angels melepas album debut 3 tahun lalu, dengan judul “Seven Angels”. Keduanya sama-sama terlibat peran dalam penulisan lagu, produser, hingga menggarap proses mixing. Untuk proses mastering mereka menyerahkan pada DJ GHEPARD. Tidak seperti pendahulunya, “Life in Heaven” akan terdengar lebih bising atau noisy, dikarenakan mereka mengambil banyak pengaruh dari gaya musik noise pop, shoegaze, dan bahkan alternatif metal. Total terdapat 10 lagu baru yang dipersembahkan 7777 Angels lewat album “Life in Heaven” ini.
