Taylor Swift – The Tortured Poets Department
Setelah merilis serentetan rekaman ulang album lamanya, kini Taylor Swift melepas album studio terbaru bertajuk “The Tortured Poets Department” yang dilepas melalui Republic Records. Taylor Swift menulis album studio ke-11 ini bersama dengan produser Jack Antonoff dan Aaron Dessner. Album ini mulai digarap pasca Taylor menyelesaikan album “Midnight” pada tahun 2022 lalu dan melanjutkannya selama pertengahan tur dunia Taylor Swift pada tahun 2023 dan 2024. Album ini menampilkan 16 lagu baru, diantaranya Taylor Swift yang berkolaborasi rapper Post-Malone pada lagu pembuka “Fortnight” dan berkolaborasi bersama Flore + the Machine pada lagu ke-8 bertajuk “Florence and the Machine”. Album ini didedikasikan untuk memiliki konsep yang menjabarkan mengenai 5 tahap kesedihan manusia yang dilalui mulai dari penolakan, kemarahan, tawar-menawar, depresi, hingga penerimaan.

Folterkammer – Weibermacht
Grup operatic symphonic metal Folterkammer melepas album ke-2 mereka bertajuk “Wehrmacht” melalui label Century Media Records. Ini merupakan aksi tindak lanjut dari album debut mereka, “Die Lederpredigt” yang dilepas pada tahun 2020 lalu. Kali ini seniman Eliran Kantor terlibat dalam penggarapan sampul album terbaru Folterkammer. Nama Folterkammer sendiri merupakan terjemahan dari bahasa Jerman yang berarti “ruang penyiksaan”. Selama durasi 45 menit, “Weibermacht” dinyanyikan penuh oleh Andromeda Anarchia dalam bahasa Jerman seutuhnya. Pihak band berkata: “Ansambel New York-Swiss-Prancis ini dengan terampil memadukan unsur-unsur musik Barok, black metal, opera, jazz, dan klasik menjadi sebuah perpaduan yang menawan namun meresahkan. ‘Weibermacht,’ sebuah istilah yang diterjemahkan dengan kehebatan pelenturan oktaf oleh Andromeda Anarchia. Lagu ini memulai penyelaman tematik selama 45 menit ke dalam kedalaman BDSM, di mana rasa sakit kabur menyatu lebur dengan kesenangan.”

Machine Girl – Super Freq
Proyek digital hardcore, Machine Girl yang digagas oleh duo Matthew Stephenson dan Sean Kelly melepas ep terbaru mereka berjudul “Super Freq” yang dirilis melalui label FREQ. Ep ini terdiri atas 3 lagu dan memiliki total durasi tidak lebih dari 10 menit. Meski telah mencetak begitu banyak album dan ep, akan tetapi ini menjadi ep debut bagi Machine Girl yang dilepas melalui FREQ Record dan rencana label tersebut hanya didedikasikan khusus untuk Machine Girl. FREQ Records sendiri terafiliasi oleh sebuah serial mangga bertajuk “FREQ” yang dibuat oleh Nicola Kazimir, diilustrasikan oleh goodnewsforbadguys, dan ditulis oleh Dai Sato. Latar cerita Freq terungkap dalam dunia futuristik di mana pengaruh frekuensi suara mengatur seluruh aspek kehidupan.

SeeYouSpaceCowboy – Coup De Grâce
Band metalcore / post-hardcore SeeYouSpaceCowboy melepas album studio ke-3 bertajuk “Coup De Grâce” melalui label Pure Noise. Ini merupakan kelanjutan dari album mereka “The Romance of Affliction” yang dilepas pada 2021 lalu. Terdapat 12 lagu baru yang terdaftar dan juga beberapa musisi turut berkontribusi seperti iRis.EXE, Kim Dracula, Courtney Laplante, hingga nothing nowhere. Sang vokalis Connie Sgarbossa Melalui altpress, mengatakan: “Album ini adalah kesempatan bagi kami untuk menyempurnakan beberapa elemen melodi yang baru-baru ini kami perkenalkan ke dalam band sambil bermain-main dengan segala hal dan membawa kembali versi masa lalu dari identitas kami. Harapannya adalah kami membuat sesuatu yang memadukan emosi bawaan post-hardcore dengan esensi katarsis dari tarian dan daya tarik kabaret/olok-olok dalam satu paket yang mencerminkan kisah sebuah kota yang terbakar. Itu semua simbol untuk individu yang tragis, kesenangan mereka dan kesengsaraan.”

Kawir – Κυδοιμοσ
Grup hellenic black metal, Kawir melepas album studio ke-9 mereka berjudul “Κυδοιμοσ” (Kydoimos) melalui label Soulseller Records. Kawir sendiri dikenal sebagai salah satu komplotan yang membesarkan dan mempopulerkan black metal di Yunani di era 90’an bersama kolektif lainnya seperti Rotting Christ, Varathron, Thou Art Lord, dan masih banyak lagi. Sang gitaris, Jason Athanasiadis sekaligus menjadi orang yang mengerjakan sesi mastering dan mixing yang turut dibantu oleh Epameinondas Oikonomou. Kawir juga turut mengundang penyanyi tenor Ilias Zervas untuk mengisi 2 lagu mereka yang berjudul “Achilles Funeral” & “War Is The Father Of All”. Sementara mantan bassist dari Rotting Christ, Jim Mutilator juga terlibat berkontribusi menyumbangkan vokalnya pada lagu “Hecatonchires”.

Loossemble – One of a Kind
Grup k-pop, Loossemble melakukan comeback dan melepas mini album ke-2 mereka bertajuk “One of a Kind” melalui label CTDE&M. “One of a Kind” tercatat menjadi album terlaris Loossemble sejauh ini yang memiliki penjualan sebanyak 44.075 eksemplar pada hari pertama, mengalahkan debut mereka “Loossemble” yang terjual sebanyak 34.000 eksemplar. “One of a Kind” memuat sebanyak 6 lagu inti termasuk single terbaru mereka, “Girls’ Night” ditambah 2 lagu yang terdiri dari intro dan outro.

Fractal Gates – One with Dawn
Band melodic death metal asal Prancis, Fractal Gates melepas album studio terbaru antisipatifnya yang berjudul “One With Dawn” melalui Rain Without End Records. Album ini menjadi tindak lanjut atas album “The Light That Shines” yang dirilis 6 tahun lalu tepatnya pada tahun 2018. Sang gitaris Stéphane Peudupin kembali turun tangan untuk menangani sesi rekaman pada gitar, bass, dan vokal, dibantu oleh Juho Räihä yang menangani sesi rekaman khusus drum. Selain itu mereka juga bekerjasama dengan audio engineering metal kawakan, Tony Lindgren untuk menangani sesi mastering album. Seperti rutinitas sebelumnya, sang vokalis Sebastien Pierre kembali menggarap sendiri sampul gambar sampul album utama. Kali ini Fractal Gates turut berkolaborasi dengan beberapa nama seperti Jari Lindholm gitaris band melodic death / doom Enshine, yang berkontribusi mengisi solo gitar pada lagu: “Seamless Days” & “Hyperstate”. Lalu ada Deibys Artigas yang mengisi clean vocal pada lagu: “Into the Unknown” & “Earthbound”, serta Egan O’Rourke yang mengisi clean vocal “One with Dawn” & “Echoing Motions”.

Whores. – War.
Unit noise rock asal Georgia, Whores. Baru saja melepas album studio ke-2 bertajuk “War.” melalui label Ghost Is Clear. Ini menjadi album pertama mereka dalam 8 tahun, sejak debut mereka, “Gold” diluncurkan. Produser ternama Ryan Boesch yang terkenal sudah menukangi band seperti Fu Manchu, Helmet, Melvins turut andil dalam proses rekaman, mixing, hingga mastering. Mereka mengerjakan album tersebut di Candor Recording studio. Total terdapat 10 lagu baru yang dipersembahkan Whores. dalam karya terbaru mereka ini.
